The deflector is installed in the boiler with a screw feeder. It is suspended above the combustion chamber.
The deflector is an operational component of the boiler and, like the grate in conventional boilers, is subject to wear, which is why it needs to be replaced after some time. The service life of the deflector is significantly shortened when the fan blast is too strong and too intense. If the deflector is damaged after a short period of operation, this is not a defect in the boiler but an obvious consequence of blowing excessive amounts of air into the boiler. The aggressive heat from the retort has caused damage to the deflector. In such a situation, the boiler does not operate as a heating device, but like a blacksmith's forge where steel melts and the deflector may burn through.
