Description
Boiler Components
The Eko Silver boiler is made of certified boiler sheet metal with a thickness of 6mm which has been bent into the appropriate shape and welded, creating the boiler water body. One of the elements of the body is a tube heat exchanger in which helical spirals have been placed. To improve combustion efficiency, the combustion chamber has been equipped with ceramic plates. To reduce heat loss outside the boiler, mineral wool insulation has been placed between the casing and the heat exchanger.
Pellet Burner
The pellet burner installed in the boiler is designed for burning wood mini-briquettes. The construction and operating algorithm allow for maintenance-free operation of the device. The burner's firebox, thanks to a movable grate and special scraper, is self-cleaning. The low electrical power consumption at an average level of 40W and below classifies the burner as an economical and ecological device, and consequently low emissions of flue gases. The burner's firebox, located entirely within the boiler, does not come into contact with the burner's external surfaces during operation, therefore does not heat up to dangerous temperatures. The burner operates fully automatically from the ignition phase, through the burning process itself, to the extinction of the firebox and its cleaning from ash residues and clinkers.
Pellet Feeder
Serves to deliver and transport fuel (pellets) to the burner and consists of:
- steel pipe with flexible spiral hose
- flexible plastic supply pipe
- gear motor
Cleaning Mechanism
In the tube section of the heat exchanger, a mechanism with spiral screws is placed. The spiral screws have two functions: one is to increase boiler efficiency through turbulence in the flow of flue gases through the heat exchanger, and the other is to maintain cleanliness of the heat exchanger surface
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank serves to store the fuel (fuel, pellets) needed for automatic operation of the boiler. The fill level should be checked every 24 hours, or as often as necessary to prevent the tank from becoming completely empty
Ash Pan
Located in the lower part of the boiler, and its emptying of ash is done through the ash pan door.
The boiler's primary fuel is pellet with the following parameters.
- diameter ø 6 or 8 mm,
- length max 4 to 5 pellet diameters,
- content of fine fractions i.e. below 3 mm (sawdust and dust) no more than 1%,
- calorific value above 17 MJ/kg,
- ash content maximum up to 0.5%,
- moisture below 12%,
- pellet must not contain loose inclusions such as bark, wood pieces, etc
