Description
Boiler Components
The Eko Silver boiler is made of certified boiler sheet metal with a thickness of 6mm which has been bent to the appropriate shape and welded, creating the boiler water body. One of the body elements is a tube heat exchanger in which helical spirals are placed. To improve combustion efficiency, the combustion chamber has been equipped with ceramic plates. To limit heat loss outside the boiler, mineral wool insulation has been placed between the casing and the heat exchanger.
Pellet Burner
The pellet burner installed in the boiler is designed to burn wood mini-briquettes. The construction and operation algorithm allow for maintenance-free operation of the device. The burner's firebox, thanks to a movable grate and special scraper, is self-cleaning. The low electrical power consumption at an average level of 40W and below classifies the burner as an economical and ecological device, and consequently low flue gas emissions. The burner's firebox, located entirely in the boiler, does not come into contact with the external surfaces of the burner during operation, and therefore does not heat up to dangerous temperatures. The burner operates fully automatically from the ignition phase, through the combustion process itself, to the extinction of the firebox and its cleaning of ash residue and clinker.
Pellet Feeder
Used to supply and transport fuel (pellet) to the burner and consists of:
- steel pipe with flexible coil
- flexible plastic supply pipe
- geared motor
Cleaning Mechanism
In the tube section of the heat exchanger, a mechanism with helical spirals is placed. The helical screws are to fulfill two functions: one is to increase the boiler's efficiency through turbulence in the flue gas flow through the heat exchanger, and the other is to maintain the cleanliness of the heat exchanger surface
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank is used to store fuel (fuel oil, pellet) needed for automatic boiler operation. The fill level should be checked every 24 hours, or as often as necessary to prevent the tank from becoming completely empty
Ash Pan
Located in the lower part of the boiler, and its emptying of ash is done through the ash pan door.
The primary fuel of the boiler is pellet with the following parameters.
- diameter ø 6 or 8 mm,
- length max 4 to 5 pellet diameter,
- content of fine fractions i.e. below 3 mm (sawdust and dust) no more than 1%,
- calorific value above 17 MJ/kg,
- ash content maximum up to 0.5%,
- humidity below 12%,
- pellet must not contain loose inclusions such as bark, pieces of wood, etc
