SEMAX BASIC PLUS 15–20 kW – wood gasification boiler

SEMAX BASIC PLUS is a central heating boiler designed for gasification of piece firewood. The model is available in two output variants: 15 and 20 kW. The boiler uses a wood gasification process and design solutions supporting efficient heat exchange and fuel combustion.

SEMAX BASIC PLUS is equipped with a mechanical draught regulator, mechanical bimetal thermometer, turbulators, horizontal convection channels, ceramic plates and an exhaust system consisting of the ST 880 PiD controller and an exhaust fan. The exhaust system provides automatic operation of the device and maintains optimal flue gas draught.

IMPORTANT! The central heating boiler may only be installed in a heating system together with a buffer tank. The buffer tank is not included in the boiler price.

Wood Gasification Technology

The SEMAX BASIC PLUS boiler uses a gasification and combustion chamber in which wood undergoes a thermal conversion process. The supplied primary and secondary air can be adjusted using slides, allowing the combustion process to be adapted as required.

The combustion chamber is equipped with ceramic plates that increase the process temperature and help burn particles rising above the combustion bed. This solution supports combustion efficiency and helps reduce harmful emissions.

Construction and Design Solutions

• Draught regulator – depending on the heating medium temperature, it controls the flap regulating the air supply to the boiler combustion chamber.
• Mechanical thermometer – a mechanical bimetal thermometer equipped with a long measuring probe.
• Turbulators – create turbulence in the flue gas, supporting heat exchange between the flue gas and the water jacket.
• Horizontal shelf-type convection channels – the heat exchanger design ensures high heat transfer and allows automatic cleaning of the heat exchanger from the front.
• Rear flue outlet – allows the flue connection to be routed directly to the chimney.
• Secondary and primary air intake – air is supplied through six openings to ensure complete combustion of the fuel. The amount of primary and secondary air can be adjusted using slides.
• Smoke flap – enables effective removal of smoke from the combustion chamber according to the user's needs.
• Ceramic plates – increase the temperature in the combustion chamber and help burn particles rising above the combustion bed.
• Exhaust system – consists of the ST 880 PiD controller and exhaust fan. It provides automatic operation of the device, maintains optimal flue gas draught and enables electronic adjustment of the exhaust force.
• Buffer tank – ensures appropriate operating conditions for the boiler. Excess heat is stored in the buffer tank, from which the heating system draws heat according to the current demand.

ST 880 PiD Exhaust System

SEMAX BASIC PLUS is equipped with an exhaust system consisting of the ST 880 PiD controller and an exhaust fan. The system provides automatic operation of the device and maintains optimal flue gas draught.

Electronic adjustment of the exhaust force supports stable boiler operation and user comfort.

Simple Operation and Control

The boiler is equipped with mechanical control components and an exhaust system. The draught regulator regulates the air supply to the combustion chamber, while the mechanical bimetal thermometer allows the heating medium temperature to be monitored.

The ST 880 PiD controller together with the exhaust fan is responsible for automatic operation of the exhaust system and adjustment of the exhaust force.

Buffer Tank

A buffer tank is a required component of the SEMAX BASIC PLUS boiler installation. It is an additional component and is not included in the boiler price.

The use of a buffer tank allows the boiler to operate at optimal output, while excess generated heat is stored in the tank. The heating system then draws from the buffer the amount of heat corresponding to the current demand.

Environmental Performance and Efficiency

SEMAX BASIC PLUS is a boiler designed for the gasification of firewood. The use of a gasification chamber, ceramic plates, turbulators and convection channels supports efficient use of the energy contained in the fuel.

The boiler meets the requirements of Class 5 and EcoDesign and has an A+ energy efficiency class. The 15 and 20 kW models are also included on the ZUM List and are eligible under the Czyste Powietrze programme.

Does the SEMAX BASIC PLUS boiler require a buffer tank?

Yes. The SEMAX BASIC PLUS boiler may only be installed in a heating system together with a buffer tank. The tank is not included in the boiler price. Its purpose is to store excess thermal energy generated during boiler operation.

Note regarding the construction: any interference with the boiler construction is prohibited and will result in the loss of warranty. Attempts to install additional grates or components enabling the combustion of a fuel other than that specified by the manufacturer are also prohibited.
