Description
HERZ Firematic 349–499 kW – Industrial Biomass Boiler for Large Facilities
The HERZ Firematic 349–499 kW is a series of high-performance biomass boilers designed for heating large buildings and facilities with high thermal energy demand. The units have been engineered for many years of intensive operation while maintaining outstanding energy efficiency, low emissions and a high degree of automation. The boilers are capable of burning both wood pellets and wood chips, allowing investors to choose the most economical fuel available on the local market.
With an output range from 349 to 499 kW, HERZ Firematic boilers are ideal for schools, hotels, industrial plants, production halls, warehouses, agricultural facilities, public buildings and district heating systems. Thanks to cascade operation, multiple boilers can be combined into highly efficient heating systems capable of meeting extremely high heating demands.

Advanced Biomass Combustion Technology
The Firematic series features a two-zone combustion chamber lined with high-temperature resistant ceramic material. This design ensures stable combustion, excellent energy efficiency and effective post-combustion of gases generated during biomass combustion.
The combustion chamber works together with a moving step grate manufactured from durable cast components. Individual grate segments can be replaced independently, simplifying maintenance and reducing service costs. The automatic grate movement ensures a constant air supply and efficient removal of combustion residues.
Thanks to this design, the boiler maintains high efficiency even during partial load operation, which is particularly important during transitional seasons when heating demand varies significantly.
Lambda Sensor and Intelligent Combustion Control
Every HERZ Firematic boiler is equipped with an electronic lambda sensor that continuously monitors the composition of the flue gases. Based on this data, the controller automatically adjusts the fuel supply together with the primary and secondary combustion air.
This guarantees optimum combustion conditions regardless of biomass quality or the current boiler load. The result is reduced fuel consumption, outstanding boiler efficiency and extremely low emissions.
Automatic Cleaning of the Heat Exchanger and Combustion Chamber
To maintain maximum efficiency throughout the heating season, the boilers are equipped with an automatic heat exchanger cleaning system. Special turbulators regularly clean the heat exchange surfaces, removing deposits formed during biomass combustion.
At the same time, the moving step grate removes ash from the combustion chamber while screw conveyors transport ash and dust into the front ash containers. For larger installations, external ash containers can also be installed, significantly reducing maintenance intervals.
Advanced HERZ T-CONTROL Controller
The heart of the entire system is the HERZ T-CONTROL controller equipped with a full-color touchscreen display. It manages both the combustion process and the operation of the complete heating installation.
The controller supports buffer tanks, domestic hot water (DHW) preparation, circulation pumps, mixing valves and weather-compensated heating systems. Its intuitive user interface makes configuration and operation simple and efficient.
Through the myHERZ portal, users can monitor boiler operation from a computer, tablet or smartphone. The system provides access to operating parameters, allows remote adjustment of settings and delivers notifications about alarms or service messages.
Cascade Operation
HERZ Firematic boilers can operate in a cascade system consisting of up to eight units. This solution automatically adjusts heat production to the building's current demand while reducing the operating hours of individual boilers.
Cascade operation increases system reliability, improves operating efficiency and extends the service life of the equipment by distributing the load evenly between the boilers.
Operational Safety
The Firematic series is equipped with a comprehensive range of safety systems designed to protect the installation during everyday operation. These include back-burn protection, independent fuel feed safety protection, combustion chamber temperature monitoring and fuel storage temperature monitoring.
Continuous electronic monitoring of all key operating parameters enables rapid detection of irregularities while ensuring safe and reliable operation throughout the boiler's service life.
Fuel Feeding Systems
HERZ offers a wide range of biomass fuel transport systems that can be adapted to virtually any fuel storage facility. Depending on installation requirements, screw conveyors, spring agitators, hydraulic walking floors, vertical conveying systems and custom-designed fuel feeding solutions are available.
Thanks to their modular design, these systems make efficient use of storage space while providing fully automatic fuel feeding without manual intervention.
