Effects of ozone
Ozone has strong aseptic and toxic properties. The homoatomic ozone molecule is composed of three oxygen atoms. Under normal conditions, ozone is a blue gas, created during electrical discharges. The air after a storm has the smell of ozone, which is produced during lightning discharges. It is thermally unstable and decomposes gradually into oxygen at room temperature.
When an ozone molecule encounters pollutants in the air or penetrates the structure of a material (carpet, upholstery, plaster), it enters a chemical reaction and causes their oxidation. The third oxygen atom reacts with pollution particles such as odors, bacteria, viruses, molds and fungi. During the reaction, it breaks them down into me, which means that most of them become less harmful. Ozone that does not react naturally decays into oxygen. All ozonation is very environmentally friendly, and disinfection of rooms using ozone is more effective than disinfection using traditional methods (i.e. chemicals).
Ozonation in practice
Disinfection - decontamination: removal of bacteria, viruses and fungi
Elimination of allergens: dust mites, pollen, mold spores
Mildew removal - removal of mold: walls, floors and equipment
Removal of odors: cigarettes, musty, rot
Please remember that ozonation eliminates or alleviates nuisance, e.g. unpleasant odor or fungi, but it will not lead to the disappearance of the sources of these pollutants
