Power optimizer
The power optimizer is a device that helps photovoltaic installations achieve the highest possible efficiency. The power optimizer increases energy production from PV systems by continuously tracking the maximum power point (MPPT) of each module individually. For standard installations, i.e. panels and inverter, inverters equipped with MPPT trackers track the maximum power points for all modules. For example, when one of the panels is shaded, the entire chain loses power, because the modules are connected in series, they all operate at the same efficiency as the weakest link. If a power optimizer is used, the inverter does not track the maximum power point for the entire string of panels, only the optimizer. Thanks to this, each panel is considered individually.
