Manual fired boiler for wood PROSAT DS BIO 15 kW
The PROSAT DS BIO boiler is a new generation of manually fuel-loaded boilers with a modern design, designed for the combustion of solid fuels: hardwood logs. The boiler has a structure that includes two separate chambers. In one chamber, the fuel gasification process takes place, while in the other ceramic chamber, the gas combustion process occurs. It has a large loading chamber for suspended fuel, a metal-ceramic burner, and a vertical heat exchanger with flue gas channels equipped with flue gas baffles. It is also equipped with a draft switch to facilitate ignition (short flue gas circuit). Air with adjustable primary and secondary air supply is delivered to the combustion chamber and the ceramic nozzle. The burner contains a metal partition with secondary air supply, which provides oxygen for combustion in the ceramic swirl burner.
The boiler can be installed in both open and closed systems after installing the appropriate safety measures described in the manual.
Boiler construction:
- Draft regulator sleeve
- Thermal insulation
- Supply inlet
- Flame sight glass
- Shortened flue gas valve lever
- Ashpan door
- Chimney cap
- Fill door
- Service door
- Ashpan door
- Bottom door damper
- Charging chamber
- Ceramic swirl burner
- Cast iron firebox grate
- Ashpan chamber
- Secondary air damper for the steel partition
- Secondary air damper for the ceramic burner
- Bottom cleanout
- Return inlet
- Air swirl device
The boiler body is made of 4 and 6 mm thick steel. It consists of the ashpan, firebox, and convection parts.
The ashpan is located at the bottom of the boiler (below the grate) and serves as a chamber for collecting ash. It is equipped with a drawer that facilitates ash removal through the ashpan doors. The doors are fitted with an air damper for regulating the supply of primary air to the combustion chamber.
The firebox is limited from below by a cast iron grate, where the fuel combustion (gasification) process takes place. In the rear part of the firebox (combustion chamber), there is a ceramic burner consisting of several ceramic elements. These elements may require periodic replacement due to high thermal loads. The firebox is closed with service doors (filling doors) through which manual fuel loading takes place. The filling doors have a flue draft control opening.
The convection part consists of a system of vertical water channels alternating with flue gas channels. In the last flue gas channel, there are baffles that cause swirling of the flue gas flow, slowing them down, and intensifying heat exchange. This channel is connected to the chimney connector, which links the boiler to the chimney installation. The upper part of the convection part contains cleaning doors for removing soot deposits.
The boiler has threaded connections for supply, return, and drain. The upper part of the boiler is equipped with connections for the water supply, while the lower part at the back or side of the boiler has connections for the water return and drain.
The thermal insulation is made of mineral wool placed in steel casings or double-coated with powder paint. The insulation prevents heat loss and ensures a safe external surface temperature. All doors are thermally insulated with ceramic plates, and the contact area between the doors and the body is sealed with a ceramic rope.
