Description
The Regulus DBV2 cooling valve with insulation is a thermostatic valve used to cool a solid fuel boiler that does not have a cooling heat exchanger. The valve has been approved in accordance with directive 97/23/EC (PED) and its design meets the requirements for heat removal equipment in accordance with Art. 4.3.8.4 ČSN EN 303-5:2012. This is a STW type Th device in accordance with ČSN EN 14597:2012.
The opening and closing of the valve is monitored by independent thermostatic elements - in case of failure of one of the thermostatic elements, the valve will release a sufficient amount of heat.
- The valve is equipped with two levels:
- lower (discharges hot water from the boiler).
- upper (introduces cold water to the heat source to cool the boiler)
When the temperature reaches the opening temperature, both levels open simultaneously. The lower level discharges hot water to the sewerage, and the upper level equalizes the water level by adding cold water. This leads to pressure balancing in the system.
For the valve to work properly, it should be placed where the temperature is at its highest value, i.e. as close as possible to the heat source (upper part at the boiler outlet), so that the thermostatic module placed in the water reacts quickly to temperature changes. The valve also has a knob that allows manual activation (similar to safety valves). It can be mounted vertically or horizontally; when mounting horizontally, care must be taken to ensure that the hot water outlet is directed downward. The valve must not be mounted with the head pointing downward.
