Description
An expansion tank with an automatic air vent is a hydraulic safety device for a fireplace with a water jacket. Its task is to compensate for changes in water volume caused by temperature changes. The tank is connected to the pipe network and accepts water from the heating installation when its volume increases as a result of temperature rise.
The tank is made of stainless steel. It consists of:
- a copper float with a valve for automatic refilling of the water system of the installation supplied by a fireplace with a water jacket or a fireplace with a water heat exchanger;
- brass mounting fittings ensuring the tightness of the overflow pipe and expansion tank connection.
NOTE: Tanks with plastic valves that have appeared on the market are not suitable for use with fireplaces with water jackets, as high temperature deforms the float.
