Description
Operation at -25°C
The TROPICO heat pump operates at an external temperature of -25°C. This is a value below the design temperature for the coldest, fifth temperature zone in Poland: -24°C.
ANTI-FREEZE
The Anti-freeze function protects hydraulic components from freezing and consequently from damage. It is a program with the highest priority, with the sole exception of the performance test function.
HOT DOMESTIC WATER
TROPICO heat pumps prepare hot domestic water, which temperature can reach 65°C. Hot domestic water preparation does not experience interruptions even at an external temperature of -25°C.
DISINFECTION FUNCTION
Because Legionella bacteria can multiply in the hot domestic water circuit installation (e.g., in the hot water tank), disinfection is needed. These bacteria pose a health hazard to humans. TROPICO heat pumps offer an automatic thermal disinfection function, which is simpler and less costly than chemical disinfection. Water in the installation is heated to a temperature of 70°C, which immediately kills Legionella bacteria.
ADDITIONAL HEATER
The units are equipped with an electric heater that will heat the water (also at very low temperatures) and enables reaching a temperature of 70°C on the supply. TROPICO heat pumps are equipped with an electric heater with a capacity of 3 kW or an electric heater with 3 performance levels: 3/6/9 kW.
SMART GRID FUNCTION
TROPICO heat pumps have the ability to work with an "intelligent energy grid". Electrical energy consumption is regulated automatically, depending on whether peak power or off-peak power is available. The regulation is performed to reduce heating costs as much as possible.
HEATING CURVES FUNCTION
32 heating curves are available for selection and one optional, personal heating curve. After selecting a curve, the unit automatically adjusts the water outlet temperature, depending on the external temperature. Intelligent control is implemented in this manner. Changing the water outlet temperature, with a different external temperature, allows for adequate adjustment of heating capacity to weather conditions.
INVERTER CONTROL
Compressors, fans and water pumps in each unit are equipped with direct current (DC) electric motors, which enables gradual and precise control of compressor frequency and fan speed. Operating capacity, and thus electrical energy consumption, is adequate to current operating requirements.
HIGH EFFICIENCY
The efficiency class of TROPICO heat pumps is the highest: A+++ *. This means the highest electrical energy savings, and consequently money and the least impact on the environment.

NOISE REDUCTION OF THE EXTERNAL UNIT
For the entire TROPICO product line, the external unit has only one fan. Additionally, an innovative blade surface construction was used (referred to as "bionic"). The indentations in the blades reduce incoming vortex. The cut in the blade trailing edge is responsible for changing the pressure distribution, and thus noise reduction. The innovation ensures lower air resistance and quieter operation.
SELF-DIAGNOSIS
The controller enables automatic display of errors and faults. It displays the specific error as a code.
BMS CONTROL
It is possible to connect to a "Building Management System", which means centralized device control through intelligent building management automation.
COMFORT HOME APPLICATION
The ability to remotely manage heat pump operation and read energy consumption status from the application level (on Android or iOS).
