Description
Operation at -25°C
The TROPICO heat pump operates at an external temperature of -25°C. This is a value below the design temperature for the coldest, fifth temperature zone in Poland: -24°C.
ANTI-FREEZE
The Anti-freeze function protects hydraulic components from freezing and, consequently, from damage. It is a program with the highest priority, with the only exception being the performance test function.
HOT DOMESTIC WATER
TROPICO heat pumps prepare hot domestic water, which temperature can reach 65°C. The preparation of hot domestic water is not interrupted even at an external temperature of -25°C.
DISINFECTION FUNCTION
Because Legionella bacteria can multiply in the hot domestic water circuit (e.g., in a domestic hot water tank), disinfection is necessary. These bacteria pose a health risk to people. TROPICO heat pumps offer automatic thermal disinfection function, which is simpler and less expensive than chemical disinfection. The water in the installation is heated to 70°C, which immediately kills Legionella bacteria.
ADDITIONAL HEATER
Devices are equipped with an electric heater that heats water (also at very low temperatures) and allows reaching a temperature of 70°C on the supply. TROPICO heat pumps are equipped with a 3 kW electric heater or an electric heater with 3 power levels: 3/6/9 kW.
SMART GRID FUNCTION
TROPICO heat pumps can operate with an "intelligent power grid". Electrical energy consumption is regulated automatically, depending on whether peak power or off-peak power is available. The regulation is performed to minimize heating costs as much as possible.
HEATING CURVES FUNCTION
32 heating curves are available for selection and one optional, personalized heating curve. After selecting a curve, the unit automatically adjusts the temperature at the water outlet, depending on the external temperature. This is how intelligent control is implemented. Changes in water outlet temperature at different external temperatures allow for adequate selection of heating power to weather conditions.
INVERTER CONTROL
Compressors, fans and water pumps in each unit are equipped with direct current (DC) electric motors, which allows for smooth and precise control of compressor frequency and fan speed. Operating efficiency, and thus electrical energy consumption, is adequate to current operating requirements.
HIGH EFFICIENCY
The efficiency class of TROPICO heat pumps is the highest: A+++ *. This means the highest electrical energy savings, and consequently money savings and the smallest environmental impact.

EXTERNAL UNIT NOISE REDUCTION
For the entire TROPICO product range, the external unit has only one fan. Additionally, an innovative blade surface design (described as "bionic") has been applied. The indentations in the blades reduce the incoming vortex. The cutout on the blade trailing edge is responsible for changing the pressure distribution, thus reducing noise. The innovation ensures lower air resistance and quieter operation.
SELF-DIAGNOSIS
The controller enables automatic error and fault detection. It displays the specific error in the form of a code.
BMS CONTROL
Connection to a "Building Management System" is possible, which means centralized control of devices through intelligent building management automation.
COMFORT HOME APPLICATION
Ability to remotely manage the heat pump operation and read energy consumption status from the application level (on Android or iOS).
