At least once every 18 months, the magnesium anode must be replaced (check the condition of the anode wear every 12 months) - replacement is not covered by warranty service (keep purchase receipts for anodes and entries in the warranty card about its replacement). Regular replacement of the magnesium anode is a condition for maintaining the tank warranty.
